Magicband+ Do I need one for my Disneyland Vacation?
First I would encourage you to watch the video below to see an overview of what it does. I also wrote up fact sheets, I think every family should weight the cost to the advantages.

How to Purchase
Disneyland MagicBand+ designs—including exclusive Disneyland Resort designs—will be available for purchase in select shops located at the Disneyland Resort with prices starting at $34.99.
Magic Key holders: Please be ready to show your Magic Key pass and a valid photo ID to purchase a special MagicBand+ design (subject to availability, restrictions and change without notice).
Additional MagicBand+ styles can be purchased online at Disney Store.
MagicBand+ styles are subject to availability and prices are subject to change without notice.
Only MagicBand+ is supported at Disneyland Resort. MagicBand and MagicBand 2 are not supported at Disneyland Resort at this time and cannot be linked to the Disneyland app.
Only one guest can be linked to each MagicBand+.
This new tool is completely optional for your visit. If you’re not interested in using one, don’t worry.
You may use MagicBand+ along with the Disneyland app as you wish. You don’t have to choose one or the other for the entire day.
In the same manner, some guests in your party may use a MagicBand+ and some may not. That’s ok, too.

MagicBand+ require charging for the enhanced experiences.
Your MagicBand+ purchase includes a charger for it. (It’s a charging cable compatible with any USB-A charger. So, you’ll need the ‘cube’ to plug it into the wall.)
A fully charged MagicBand+ can last anywhere from 1-3 days, depending on how often it’s used.
Disney recommends charging your MagicBand+ overnight and then powering it down until you are ready to use it.
Final thoughts:
My experience with MagicBand+ at WDW is always good and I think these will be more popular at Disneyland eventually.
They will help save your phone battery for sure. And, I think they’re convenient, ONLY if your family really uses lightning lane services. Whether they’re essential for your trip remains to be seen.
